On Tuesday, Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Megan McCubbin were back with a new series of Autumnwatch. The BBC wildlife programme, which will air all week, broadcast live from Wild Ken Hill in Norfolk. The trio gave viewers an insight into what wildlife had changed since spring. However, things quickly took a turn when Chris left his co-host Michaela rather embarrassed when he threatened to urinate live on television.

The bizarre moment came after Megan discussed stags and how the males fight with each other during this time of year.

Megan told her co-stars about a new science that had been discovered about the animals.

She explained the stags have a new sexual trait called a ventral patch.

The ventral patch is an area of hair that runs down the stag’s abdomen.

She went on to add the red deer urinates on their ventral patches which shows other stags how dominant they are.

“I know Chris this is probably right up your street, isn’t it?” Michaela asked. “Deers weeing on themselves.”

However, when the camera cut back to Chris and Michaela, the former was wearing a fake ventral patch.

He replied: “It is definitely right up my street which is why I have equipped myself with my very own ventral patch.”

As Michaela and Megan laughed, Chris continued: “Ventral patch, what about that, eh?”

“All I can say, Chris, is that I don’t recommend you peeing on it to attract a female,” Michaela joked.

Chris added: “Just straight into the bushes as soon as we finish.

“I am going to anoint my ventral patch and I assure you it will probably pay dividends.”

“It’s a good look, Chris,” an awkward Michaela told him. “Not.”

“The first human ventral patch,” the presenter laughed.

Viewers were thrilled to see Chris and Michaela back on their screens and many took to social media to share their thoughts.

Mac penned: “Loving Chris’ ventral patch. Poor Michaela didn’t know where to look!”

Ange joked: “Oh lordy, Chris has his ventral patch to *perfume* lol.” (sic)

While Gavin simply tweeted: “I love Chris Packham & Michaela Strachan.”

“How amazing and wonderful is #Autumnwatch? Baby otters and Chris in a ventral patch…that’s my Tuesday made,” Kate commented.

John said: “Love the show tonight… the presenters are just as awesome as the wildlife.”

Autumnwatch returns on Wednesday at 8pm on BBC Two.
