Yes, is the simple answer – Midsomer Murders is going to be coming back for season 22.
The news was confirmed in 2020 with filming taking place in the UK in October 2020.
Fans can expect a new spate of murders across middle England in one of the deadliest and fictional regions of the nation.
Midsomer Murders managed to start production despite the coronavirus pandemic, which saw many other shows either delayed or halting filming due to health and safety concerns.

When will Midsomer Murders season 22 air?
There’s no air date from ITV at the moment but considering filming only just started in autumn last year, it could be a while.
Also, covid filming restrictions could impact on the speed of production and possibly delay the premiere date.
Express.co.uk will update this article when more information is available, however, there is confirmed to be six feature-length episodes.
When season 22 eventually comes to screens, ITV will be airing episodes on a weekly basis. In the meantime, old episodes are available to watch on the ITV Hub.
Who is in the cast of Midsomer Murders season 22?
Reprising his role for a 10th year will be actor Neil Dudgeon as DCI John Barnaby.
Actor Neil Dudgeon said at the time filming commenced: “Everyone is excited to get back to work.
“Sadly there won’t be as much hugging and kissing on set as usual but we’ve all got to make sacrifices!
“It’s bound to be a bit strange at first with all the safety protocols but hopefully we can all keep each other safe and shoot another great series.”

Also, back in the frame is star Nick Hendrix as DS Jamie Winter and Annette Badland as pathologist Dr Fleur Perkins.
Another returning cast members is Fiona Dolman as Sarah Barnaby and Paddy the dog, who is Barnaby’s loyal canine companion.
Fans can also expect some guest appearances from the likes of Maimie McCoy, Mark Wright and Amanda Abbington with more names to be announced in due course.
The show will see episodes written by Chris Murray, Jeff Povey, Helen Jenkins, Nick Hicks-Beach and Julia Gilbert.
What will happen in Midsomer Murders season 22?
Fans can expect more of the same with dead bodies turning up and the team back on the case speaking to some shifty-looking suspects.
There will also be more twists and turns along the way to keep audiences guessing until the very last minute.
