LONGTIME Neighbours fans could not get over how youthful Jackie Woodburne looked in last night’s finale.
Viewers who tuned into the final episode of Neighbours on Friday night were left gobsmacked by Jackie’s appearance, saying the Australian-Irish actress hasn’t aged a day.
After 37 years, the popular Australian soap Neighbours aired its last episode on Channel 5 last night.
The show drew to a close in a jam-packed one hour finale, which saw long-standing Ramsay Street couple Karl (Alan Fletcher) and Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) faced with the prospect of all their beloved neighbours leaving the street.
Of course, after an elaborate wedding and some emotional speeches, that didn’t turn out to be the case.
The episode ended with Jackie’s character Susan wandering around the happy, packed street, reflecting on her time there.
Jackie, 66, joined Neighbours in 1994, along with her on-screen husband Alan, 65. Se has since been at the centre of many of the soap’s dramatic storylines, including Karl’s multiple affairs and a bout of amnesia.
Last night’s finale marked the end of an era, and Neighbours fans who watched the soap years ago couldn’t help but tune in again to reminisce about the past.

But, after watching the episode, they were all saying the same thing: that Jackie hadn’t aged a day, even after decades on the show.
One fan said: “I haven’t watched #Neighbours in about 15/20 years but Susan hasn’t changed one bit.”
Another issued similar comments, saying: “I haven’t watched #Neighbours in like 20 years, how does Susan look the exact same?”
“Susan Kennedy has not aged a day!” a third viewer commented.

Fans just could not get over how similar the actress looked in the finale to when she joined the show decades earlier.
“Susan Kennedy has not aged in 30 years, good for her,” one viewer said.
Another added: “Susan Kennedy hasn’t changed.”
“I want whatever anti-ageing Susan Kennedy’s using – it’s 25 years since I’ve watched and she looks exactly the same,” another Neighbours fan tweeted.
“Jackie Woodburne never ages! She is gorgeous as always,” said another viewer.
When they weren’t commenting on Jackie’s youthful appearance, Neighbours fans were calling for the Australian-Irish actor to receive prestigious awards like a Gold Logie for her performance on the show.
One fan wrote: “Anyone else onboard to begin a year-long campaign to get Jackie Woodburne the 2023 Gold Logie? #Neighbours.”
A second viewer called her one of “the best actresses Australia has ever produced,” while another simply said, “Give her a Damehood right now.”
As a reward for her long-standing commitment to the show, Jackie was given the honour of voicing the show’s last ever monologue. It was a sweet tribute to the Australian soap and everyone who made it so special.
