PETER Andre has admitted that he’s worried about his four children having the coronavirus vaccine.
The 48-year-old has questioned why the government intends to give his kids jabs in August when the chance of them getting seriously ill from coronavirus is highly unlikely – despite both him and wife Emily contracting it.
Peter and Emily, 31, have two kids together, Amelia, seven, and son Theo, four, whilst the pop star has two children, Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, with his ex-wife Katie Price
Writing in his latest New! magazine column, he said: “It's reported that kids will get COVID vaccinations from August. I'd be OK with my kids having the vaccine, providing there is some end goal we felt was beneficial for them. Where I'm confused is if all adults will have had the jab by then, why would kids need it?
“Especially as we have always been told they are less affected by the virus and, if so, not able to spread it to adults who have had their vaccine. I guess I understand it's to protect the elderly who can't have a shot for whatever reason. Right now, I'm not sure. But I'd rather the kids have the jab than two COVID swabs a week for years to come.”
NHS doctor Emily tested positive for coronavirus in July and had to isolate away from her family but despite the challenges, she insisted they all adapted to the circumstances "really well".
She said at the time: "I was only able to wave at them from the top of the stairs. Myself and Pete also slept in separate bedrooms just to be on the safe side.
"It was horrible but the family adapted to it really well and I got a big hug at the end. I had a sore throat and lost my sense of smell and taste for a week."
She has since been immunised herself against Covid.
Pete tested positive for Covid in January of this year and was left feeling “extremely tired and unwell”.
At the time, his wife revealed he really struggled with anxiety during his illness.
She said: “When Pete had it a bit more recently, I felt more relaxed. He didn’t, going through it himself he felt quite anxious.”
