Scarlett Moffatt has been announced as the host of a brand new ITV2 cookery dating show, called Love Bites.

Presided over by Scarlett, 29, contestants will cook up a storm in the kitchen while trying to land a date with a single foodie.

Each hopeful will be required to whip up a creative and delicious three-course meal using the same ingredients in a bid to find true love.

The former Queen of the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here jungle said she was chuffed to land her “dream” presenting role while helping singletons find love.

She said: “I am beyond excited to be hosting ITV2’s new show Love Bites which is coming to your screens this autumn.

“I’ve always been obsessed with both dating and cookery shows so this rolled into one really is the dream gig for me.

“I’ve had such a blast filming with the daters and watching them whip up a storm in the kitchen.

“Make sure you stay tuned to check it out in all its glory, it's a culinary and dating delight served with lots of LOLs so perfect TV for the colder months.”

Paul Mortimer, Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions ITV, heaped praise on the former Gogglebox star.

He said: “Scarlett is a warm, funny and quick-witted personality, currently impressing on ITV2's Celebrity Karaoke Club.

“Audiences love her; we’re excited that she'll be presenting this exciting new series that blends together food and flirtation.”

Katy Thorogood, Ricochet’s Creative Director, agreed that Scarlett was the perfect choice for the hosting role.

She said: “We’ve loved working with Scarlett – she presides over the mayhem in the Love Bites kitchen with a natural wit and warmth."

Scarlett has previously hosted I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp as well as cropping up on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and presenting a reboot of nineties dating show StreetMate.

The star turns 30 this week, but recently brought her celebration forward to avoid the government’s rule of six law.

She hosted ten guests at her house last month, providing a picnic, silent disco and karaoke.

Scarlett explained: "It's not my 30th until October 17, but change of plans with only having six people meant that my birthday celebrations were cancelled.”

"So I feel anyone's pain who was going to get married or have an event as it's a bit s****y.

“But we've got to follow the rules and make sure we're keeping ourselves safe."
