Maya Vander took to Instagram this week to inform her fans she had sadly lost her baby Mason after 38 weeks of pregnancy. The real estate star is set to return for Selling Sunset’s upcoming fifth season, however, in a recent interview prior to her tragic announcement, she hinted the next outing may be her final stint on the popular Netflix show.

Maya said she would be continuing to work with The Oppenheim Group, but won’t be returning as a full cast member for Selling Sunset season six.

She recently appeared on Domenick Nati Show, and was asked what lies ahead after the highly anticipated fifth season drops early next year.

The reality star admitted it would be difficult to stay on, as her business is currently based in Miami.

“So I’m definitely gonna be keeping my license in California with Jason [Oppenheim],” she confirmed.

“But I do know that in season six I’m probably not gonna be a full cast member.”

Season five has already wrapped production and is expected to drop on Netflix in early 2022.

Mary Fitzgerald confirmed on Lorraine: “We have season five coming out probably in March.

“We’re done filming. We have a couple of pick-ups when we get back, and a couple of interviews still to do.”

“But for the most part, season five’s done filming, and it will be very, very good.”

Maya will have already filmed her part of the next season, but is unlikely to feature too heavily in the series going forward.

She explained: “It’s gonna be difficult for me logistically to do the back and forth again.

“Plus, you know, my business in Miami is really good so I wanna focus on that.”

“Realistically speaking, I’m probably going to stay more focussed in Miami; my family and my business here.”

As Selling Sunset is based in Los Angeles, it would be difficult for the mother of two to travel across the States for each new season.

Although she relocated to LA in 2002, her own real estate ventures are currently on the opposite side of the country.

There may be room for her to cameo in the coming seasons, but it’s unlikely she’ll be appearing in a significant role after next year.

However, she has yet to update her plans after announcing the devastating loss of her baby on Instagram.

She captioned her latest post: “Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I had a stillbirth at 38 weeks.

“I always heard of it but never imagined I’ll be part of the statistics. Instead of delivering a baby, I get to go home with a memory box… I do not wish this on anyone.”

Her followers have rallied around her after she confirmed the sad news, including fellow Selling Sunset stars Mary Fitzgerald, Chrishell Stause and Vanessa Villela.

Selling Sunset season five will be released in early 2022 on Netflix.
