1. Zack's betrayal comes to light

Zack Hudson (portrayed by James Farrar) has been going through a rough patch with his girlfriend Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill).

The pair have encountered a number of issues in recent months but things came to a head when Zack shared an evening with Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) after another argument with Nancy.

This week, Zack is wracked with guilt following his night with Sam and his guilt grows when a courier delivers a touching gift from Nancy.

When he finally manages to get Sam out of the house, Zack confesses all to Martin Fowler and agrees he should be honest with Nancy.

2. Shirley vows revenge for Nancy

The Carters are a close-knit family, determined to make anyone who hurts one of their own pay.

With that being said, it's no surprise that Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) goes on a crusade to avenge her granddaughter.

EastEnders viewers know all too well the tough lady never shies away from an argument or brawl as proven when went after Gray Atkins for Tina's murder.

After Nancy learns about Zack's betrayal, her father Mick (Danny Dyer) is the first one to approach the chef.

Sadly for him, Shirley is one step ahead of him and brutally punches him.

Shirley then berates Sam in front of Zack's sister Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), threatening to ruin their business at Peggy's.

Later on, Kat is concerned after the cab office receives some threatening phone calls and assumes they must be from Shirley.

But when she confronts the latter, Kat realises someone else is behind the threats.

Could she be wrong?

Seeing the situation getting out of hand, Zack pleads with Nancy for forgiveness.

But she decides that there's no turning back and ends their relationship.

Zack gets scolded by his sister Sharon but Mick eventually turns up.

Despite Martin Fowler's advice to give Nancy some space, Zack makes the decision to find her with a surprising suggestion.

When Nancy doesn't listen, Zack is set on showing how committed he is to her and their future… and proposes to her.

How will she react?

4. Kheerat reunites with Stacey

While Zack and Nancy are nowhere near wedded bliss, love is definitely in the air for Kheerat Panesar (portrayed by Jaz Deol) and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).

But by rekindling their romance, Stacey realises the reunion isn't really what she had hoped for as the pair fail to make things official.

This leads the owner of Stacey's Baps to believe the businessman may be ashamed of her.

But Kheerat assures her that she's wrong, asserting that he only wants to protect their relationship from any meddling before making it public knowledge.

To prove his own commitment, Kheerat implies he wants to meet up later in the day.

Stacey is pleased but she's surprised when she's taken by him to an empty No.31.

Little does she know there are talks of an arranged marriage behind closed doors.

5. Stuart makes a sad decision

For months, Rainie and Stuart Highway (played by Tanya Franks and departing star Ricky Champ) have been adamant on starting a family.

When Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) agreed to be their surrogate mother, the couple were relieved to see their dreams could finally come true.

Bernie gave birth to a baby boy which the couple named Roland.

Rainie has since been ready to sign their parental order to make their family official – while her husband has shown symptoms of postnatal depression.

Stuart has been unable to form a connection with his son which leads him to make a devastating decision this week.

Coming up, Rainie prepares for the social worker’s visit to discuss the parental order but panics when Stuart is nowhere to be found.

With the social worker waiting, Stuarts grandmother and brother, Vi and Callum, track him down and encourage him to support Rainie.

The meeting finally gets underway but Stuart is soon overwhelmed by it all and orders it to be over, ushering the social worker out of his home.

Stuart later spirals out of control despite Rainie's pleas and takes Roland back to Bernie, asserting he doesn't want him.

Bernie and her own mother Karen Taylor worry for Roland and decide to keep, leaving Rainie heartbroken.

Reeling from the shock, Rainie pays the Taylors a visit, begging them to let her explain what happened.

Vi worries for Stuart as he causes a scene in the market.

Things get out of hand as Rainie tries to get Bernie and Karen back on her side and Roland back home.

Will Bernie decide to hand Roland over to another family?

6. Harvey and Mitch are attacked

Working for Kat's Cabs turns out to be dangerous for both Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) and Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths).

When Kat receives threatening phone calls in the cab office, she first assumes Shirley is behind them – only to realise she's wrong.

Later, Harvey and Mitch are talking on the phone but when the line goes dead, Harvey is approached by two men.

The thugs brutally attack Mitch and Harvey in an unprovoked attack.

Kat finds both drivers brutally beaten up.

She later frets to Sharon about the situation and suggests they
delay the opening night at Peggy’s.

But who has it in for Kat's business?

7. Jordan is rushed to hospital

After initially struggling with the idea of being a mother to a serial killer's child, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) has become fiercely protective of her son Jordan.

But she becomes increasingly concerned when her baby seems under the weather this week.

While at Peggy's, Sharon picks up on her mood.

Seeing how worried she is, she then decides to get Chelsea's mother Denise (Diane Parish) to stop by and show her that they've installed a video baby monitor, meaning Chelsea can see her baby whenever she wants.

All seems well and Sharon encourages Chelsea to stay after her shift and unwind with a drink but things take a nasty turn.

Chelsea's nightmares come to life when she arrives home and finds paramedics tending to her son.

Jordan is taken to hospital and a distraught Chelsea blames herself for him being sick as doctors believe he may have contracted meningitis.
