SEX and the City spin-off And Just Like That sees a major character DIE in the first episode.
The highly anticipated sequel debuts today and fans cannot wait to find out what is happening in the lives of Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte.
However, they are in for a major shock when an important person in one of their lives passes away in heartbreaking scenes at the end of the first episode.
A source who was at an early screening told The Sun: "The whole cinema were in floods of tears. It was totally unexpected and happened so fast.
"Of course this is Sex and the City so it was beautifully shot. But the shockwaves from the loss will dominate this first season.
"Fans will be devastated."
The show opens with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) revealing that former bestie Samantha (Kim Cattrall) is no longer speaking to her.
Fans were wondering how the character's absence would be addressed after Kim opted not to return for the reboot.

Samantha ended her friendship with Carrie after she was ditched as her publicist, and also cut off Miranda and Charlotte too.
In one scene, Carrie says: "It’s kind of like she’s dead, we never talk about her. She stopped returning my calls.”
Miranda replies: “Her pride got damaged."
Sharing her hurt, Carrie says: "I thought I was more to her than an ATM.”
However, it ends up being someone else in their lives who actually dies in the final moments of the episode, leaving Carrie and Co bereft.
SOBBING THEIR HEARTS OUT
Viewers who made an early start on bingeing the first three episodes were also devastated.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "AndJustLikeThat @ me with your feelings guys. Let’s grieve together because I was not prepared for that s***, either."
Another wrote: "It's 2 am #AndJustLikeThat here I am sobbing…"
A third tweeted: "How am I supposed to sleep now? It took me six days to get rid of a migraine and now I'm just…ugh! I was not prepared and I'm not handling it well."
And Just Like That airs at 9pm and 10pm tonight on Sky or stream on NOW.
