STEPHEN Colbert broke down in tears and admitted he had "goosebumps" after Dolly Parton unexpectedly began singing old folk songs on his show.
Dolly was a guest on his show on Tuesday and he asked her about the old songs her mother would sing to her.
The country superstar then began singing one called Bury Me Beneath The Willow Tree, and the camera cut back to Stephen who looked shocked as he wiped away tears and pointed to his arms where he had goosebumps.
"Are you crying?" Dolly laughs, "so I better hush before you cry yourself to death and we cant finish the show."
Stephen then joked he was "under a lot of stress like a lot of Americans" and added: "You got under my tripwire right there, that was pretty beautiful."
The iconic singer, 74, who will be celebrating her 75th birthday in January, recently admitted she is in talks to appear on the cover of Playboy for the second time.
Dolly – who made her Playboy debut on the magazine's October 1978 cover dressed in the iconic Playboy bunny outfit – revealed earlier in 2020 that she wanted to celebrate her upcoming 75th birthday by gracing the mag again.
But speaking on British radio at the beginning of October, she said: "Yeah, I just might do it, if I can do it in good taste and they want it [and] we'll do it along with a really good interview inside.
"So, yeah, we've talked about it."
Dolly continued: "I have been asked, back in the day, but that was so totally not me. I would never do that… but that was a good article they ran in there, and it was just a fun thing to do.
“That was just another way I was trying to market myself, at that time, to kinda get in the mainstream.”
Dolly has recently released her third holiday album A Holly Dolly Christmas.
This is also her 47th solo studio album released.
