It’s nearly time for a new group of celebrities to pack their combat boots and winter fleeces as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is set to return in the Autumn. While the line-up will not be confirmed until later in the year, The Chase star Jenny Ryan is one of the favourites to head to Wales for the new series. Will she follow in the footsteps of Anne Hegerty?

After Monday’s announcement, I’m A Celebrity will be returning to Wales, the bookies have priced up some of the rumoured names heading into the castle.

Bookies have slashed Jenny’s odds of taking part to just 3/1 meaning she could be the next chaser to take on the ITV reality series.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “I’m A Celebrity chiefs now know the location of this year’s series, and for them, the chase is on when it comes to assembling a star-studded line-up.

“The latest odds suggest Jenny Ryan could well be set for a stint in Gwyrch Castle.”

It’s not surprising Jenny is a favourite to sign up as last year she announced how keen she would be to do the show on Twitter.

She told her fans: “My main reservations about doing #ImACeleb have always been 1. The Spiders 2. The Snakes 3. The Heat, so this could be a big opportunity for ol’ Jenny.

“If it’s not basically a three-week-long version of Most Haunted then the network is missing a trick.”

Her co-star Anne, who took part in the 2018 series, responded to Jenny’s tweet encouraging her to take part.

She explained: “Outside of trials, 1. Spiders – only one big gravid one in overhang of pool, which no one used but me, 2. Snakes – nope, they patrol the camp perimeter very carefully, 3. Heat – less than you’d think, you’re sleeping outside.”

Anne added it “wasn’t all that bad” in the jungle camp. Could the Chaser have convinced Jenny to sign up if ITV asks her to take part?

Last year’s I’m A Celebrity saw author and actress Giovanna Fletcher crowned Queen of the Castle after facing competition from BBC radio DJ presenter Jordan North and TV presenter Vernon Kay.

Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly will be back to host the series once more.

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV Head of Entertainment Commissioning, said: “We can confirm today that we’ll be returning to Wales for the 2021 series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

“We’ve always said we have contingencies in place for the series if the covid situation continued to bring uncertainty, and after a highly successful run at the castle last year we’re pleased that we can return there.

“I have no doubt the production team will produce another hugely entertaining series.”

Dr Mark Baker, Chair of the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust said “I’m absolutely delighted that I’m A Celebrity has chosen Gwrych Castle to be its UK location for the 2021 series.

“Gwrych Castle is a beautiful grade I listed historic house and a must-see destination for tourists visiting Wales.

“I’m A Celebrity being here will really help support its ongoing restoration as well as giving the region a much-needed economic boost. We are all very excited to be working with the team again.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here returns to ITV later this year.
