Following the numerous cliffhangers teed up by Virgin River at the end of season three, Netflix subscribers across the globe are desperate to see what lies ahead for the likes of Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) and Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge). However, despite the show’s success and with plenty more story to tell, the streaming service is still yet to officially renew the drama for a fourth run. Now, fans may have just spotted a huge clue on Instagram which could suggest filming has already begun.
On Instagram earlier this week in a now-deleted post [via Hello!], Virgin River fans spotted a major update from an account close to the Netflix series.
Published by The Watershed Grill – the location also used as the backdrop of Jack’s bar – the post read: “A Shed Heads up that we will be closed Aug 17th & 18th for filming and we will reopen on Thursday the 19th at 2pm.”
In the now-deleted post, the account added: “We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding and we will see ya’ll on Thursday!”
However, after the post was picked up on by swathes of the Virgin River fandom, it has since been replaced with a different explanation for the closure.
Instead of filming, The Watershed Grill has now insisted the closure was down to “maintenance”.
In a republished post, it wrote: “A Shed Heads up that we will be closed Aug 17-19 for maintenance and will be open up again on Friday at our regular hours!
“We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding and we will see ya’ll on Friday!”
Needless to say, it didn’t take long for a number of fans to reply to the post – with many convinced the location has just let slip Breckenridge and co had returned for filming.
“Wow – I never realized that ‘maintenance’ was a synonym for ‘filming’ [smile emoji],” one fan sarcastically replied.
A second similarly replied: “Haha ‘maintenance’ [puzzled emoji].”
While a third also joked: “What kind of ‘maintenance’ are you doing? I hear there might be a few strong ‘handymen’ hanging around your way this week who could help out.. [wink emoji].”
And a fourth also commented: “Good luck with ‘maintenance’ lol.” (Sic)

The bar is located in North Vancouver and doubles as the background for Jack’s Bar where he was shot in the season two finale.
Still one of the biggest mysteries in the show, the true identity of Jack’s shooter remains up in the air – even though Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) was placed in handcuffs for the crime.
Brady has protested his innocence and it’s fair to say the fandom remains unconvinced he pulled the trigger – so will the real gunman be revealed in flashbacks from the location?
Fans will have to wait until season four to find out and while no official news has been confirmed, one the show’s leading stars has all but confirmed it’ll go ahead.
Tim Matheson, who plays long-serving medical expert Doc, has spoken out about the possibility of another season.
He told RadioTimes.com: “Well, Netflix is quite quiet about all that [production updates].
“I just hesitate to say anything that they might get upset [about],” he said before delivering encouraging news.
“My understanding is that it will be like any day now.”
Virgin River seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix now.
