Strictly Come Dancing week seven came to a devastating end when Adam Peaty and dance partner Katya Jones were eliminated. They failed to impress the judges with their Jive, bringing the line up down to eight. The BBC competition is in its second half now and all the celebs know they can no longer make any major mistakes.

What time is Strictly Come Dancing on tonight?

Week eight will see the couples dance-off for a chance to feature in the Musicals Special in week nine.

The competition couldn’t be any closer, with several of the stars already being pegged to take home the big prize.

Sadly, another celebrity will have to go in week eight, and the bookies have their sights set on one.

To catch the dances, tonight’s episode will air at the earlier time of 6.40pm on BBC One.

To see the results, Sunday night’s episode will air later at 7.20pm, following the next instalment of Doctor Who Flux.

As for the next exit, all the stars have everything to dance for, with no sudden removals this week due to illness or injury.

However, all eyes are on Dan Walker, as he is now in last place following Peaty’s departure.

Walker took home a respectable 27 points last week, but the competition is higher than ever.

On the other end of the leaderboard, AJ Odudu scored an impressive 39 points, making it a season-best for the star.

She was followed closely by Tom Fletcher with 38 points, showing just how close this year’s competition is.

John Whaite scored 35 points in third place, with Rhys Stephenson earning 34 points.

Sara Davies, Rose Ayling-Ellis, and Tilly Ramsay took home 33, 32, and 31 points, respectively, again showing just how close the race truly is.

Of course, it will ultimately be up to the voters at home who have to face the dreaded dance-off.

Once again, the judges will have the final say during Sunday night’s show.

Following their shock exit, Peaty admitted he was “hurting” on It Takes Two’s Monday show.

Peaty explained: “I’m hurt but I know Katya is hurting a little bit, which hurts me more because I know how much we put into this.

“This journey has been hard, it’s not easy. Everyone sees the Saturday night delivery which is the smiles, the laughs, the awe and consuming thing of Strictly, but for me, I put absolutely everything into that.

“I enjoyed the lows as well as the highs because that is what I remember, but it’s not all positive. It is hard, it’s really hard.”
