Euro 2021 kicks off (pardon the pun) tonight, which means the schedules for soaps are about to change a great deal and first up, it’s EastEnders.
As we miss an episode tonight, the changes are going to be a lot to keep up with but don’t worry, we’ve got everything covered:
What changes will be made to the EastEnders schedule over the Euros?
It was announced at the end of May that EastEnders will be uploading a weeks’ worth of episodes to BBC iPlayer at the start of the week.
This is to coincide with the ever-changing schedules due to the Euros, so viewers will have the chance to binge watch all the instalments at once if they wish.
But fear not as this will only happen for three weeks while the football is on, and the EastEnders episodes will still air on BBC One, just in different places.
When is EastEnders on next week?
There’s so much drama coming up in Albert Square, and to catch up with the missing episode tonight, EastEnders will air next week’s episodes as follows:
Tuesday June 15 – 7:35pm and 7:55pm
Wednesday June 16 – 8:10pm and 8:35pm
Producer Jon Sen gave his thoughts on EastEnders moving to boxsets on iPlayer:
‘Giving EastEnders viewers the ability to decide when they drop in on all things Albert Square is something we’re excited about.
‘With the inevitable scheduling changes due to the Euros, something we’ll be celebrating in Walford on screen, box setting all four episodes will ensure everyone gets their dose of drama and football fans won’t miss out.
‘From indulging them all in one night, staggering across a few days or continuing to watch the episodes play out on BBC One, we hope the endless streaming options on BBC iPlayer keeps viewers content over the next few weeks.’
