Boris Johnson and Carrie share pictures of baby Romy alongside dog Dilyn during videocall with Covid vaccine centres

BORIS Johnson and wife Carrie have shared a new glimpse of baby Romy during a video call with a Covid vaccination centre -with pet pooch Dilyn snoozing alongside them.

The couple beamed as they chatted to doctor Laura Mount – who is leading the team atCentral and West Warrington jab clinic – with Carrie clutching their new-born daughter at Chequers, in Ellesborough, Bucks.

They also spoke to Tom Jones, from Rickmansworth, who attends RVS Rickmansworth lunch club and cares for his wife with dementia.

The PM was pictured grinning as Carrie cradled little Romy in a blue blanket on a sofa of their country house – with their Dilyn seen also joining them.

Romy was born on December 9 at a London hospital, with Boris and Carrie – who married in secret earlier this year – revealing her full name, Romy Iris Charlotte Johnson, days later.

Carrie, 33, shared the news on her Instagram – just minutes after the PM let it slip on a clip when he was on a visit to a vaccine centre earlier this month.

And the sweet name is a touching tribute to Boris’s mum, Charlotte Johnson Wahl, who passed away in September this year aged 79.

In her sweet social media post, the PM's wife said big brother Wilf was settling into the role well, "stroking Romy's hair, giving big kisses and playing with his matchbox cars right next to her crib, just in case she feels like joining in too."

And she thanked the "amazing maternity staff" at University College Hospital for looking after them, adding: "we are so, so grateful".

Boris, 57, was with eco-campaigner Carrie throughout the birth and went to visit the pair several times before the pair came home over the weekend after Romy was born.

Carrie said the couple's new bundle of joy, who was born at 9.02am on December 9, was named after her aunt Rosemary.

Iris is from the Greek meaning rainbow – in a touching tribute to Carrie's miscarriage earlier this year.
