Cops make chilling link investigating brutal murders of four university students

A chilling link has been made in the case one of the most brutal quadruple murders police have ever seen.

University students 20-year-old Ethan Chapin, 21-year-old Madison Mogen, 20-year-old Xana Kernodle and 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves were found dead in their off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho, USA, around two weeks ago.

No details were given to the public about specifics, but police said that whatever took place "caused blood to ooze through the wall of the house in "the worst" crime scene they had "ever seen".

The news points to a brutal homicide, with law enforcement believing the four were killed with an "edged weapon".

And in a worrying update given today (Thursday, December 1), the search for the killer has now move to the US state of Oregon.

Police now believe that the killer could be the same one who snuck into the bedroom of Travis and Jamilyn Juetten while wearing a mask – and stabbed the woman 19 times in a horrific frenzied attack in August, 2021.

Travis tried to fight off the attacker but was stabbed to death. Ms Juetten was stabbed 19 times but miraculously survived.

Although it was 640km away from where the four girls were murdered, the two attacks bare some similarities.

Both houses had other sleeping occupants who were left unharmed and unaware of what had happened.

And now police are looking at a “possible connection” between both attacks, Moscow Police Chief James Fry said.

He explained: “We’re looking at every avenue and we have other agencies reaching out to us with other cases and stuff that we are going to follow up on those.”

The mother of Jamilyn told local news: “I want answers for all five of them.

“I heard it on the news conference the other day that they were exploring it or that they were aware of it – that was the first I knew.

“I did get my hopes up as it’s been a year-and-a-half and we have nothing.”

Another line of inquiry police are chasing is that the attacks were not related, and were in fact both specifically targeted by separate killers.
