But soaring inflation means filling one of the famous sticker books may cost more than a ticket to this year’s final in Qatar. To complete the book, fans will have to fork out almost £870, according to research. A ticket to the final costs £505.

The price of a five-sticker pack for the 2022 World Cup has risen to 90p – up from 80p during the 2018 tournament in Russia.

Fans need to collect 670 stickers to complete the book, but because of duplicates, statisticians say collectors need to buy 4,832 stickers on average.
