A young girl has died after a freak accident in which she was crushed by a car window.
The incident took place in Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday around 7:30pm, when officers were called to the scene for a supposed car accident.
When they arrived, they found out that it was actually a girl who had been hurt while playing inside a parked car outside a family party, FOX 10 Phoenix reports.
An investigation revealed that one of the car’s power windows had rolled up on her and she was taken to hospital in critical condition, where she later died of her injuries.
Investigators say they do not know if the car was fully on, or if the keys were in the ignition in order to power the windows, but police say there are no signs of foul play.
The medical examiner will determine the official cause of death for the young girl who’s name and age were not revealed.
Andy Williams, from the Phoenix Police Department said: “It’s awful. It’s heart-wrenching.
