Police and fire crews are currently on the scene outside a hospital in Liverpool.
There have been reports of a car explosion outside Liverpool Women's hospital.
A large emergency response are within a cordon at the Catherine Street Hospital with a Royal Logistic Corps army vehicle spotted on site as well.
Merseyside Police have confirmed the incident but have not released details of what has occurred on the hospital grounds.
Witnesses on social media describe hearing a loud bang before clouds of smoke appeared near the hospital.
Images have also been circulating on social media and between friends on social media showing a car on fire and the remains of burnt out vehicle.
A road block around the hospital is currently in place with police advising people to avoid the area.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that an incident occurred at around 11am today outside Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
