Police said Ms Durdant-Hollamby’s death was being treated as murder and no-one else was being sought in connection with the incident.

Ms Durdant-Hollamby’s family said: ‘We are absolutely devastated at the loss of Maddie, our beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter and niece.

‘Our hearts are broken and we cannot begin to imagine life without her. The shock and pain we are feeling is indescribable.’

It emerged last week marketing director Green, 41, was a misogynistic ‘woman-hating sex addict’, his former friends said.

He was understood to have met Ms Durdant-Hollamby while the pair worked together and they dated for approximately a year.

But friends revealed he was a misogynistic ‘sex-crazed monster’ who slept with up to eight women at the same time while he was married with children.

A former friend told the Sun ‘chilling and calculated’ Green would treat women as his ‘property’ and showed them no respect.

Police believe Green stabbed the young woman to death before turning the blade on himself in a horrifying incident.

Friends said he had a penchant for women who were ‘much younger than him’ and would travel across the country to pursue them.

One said: ‘He treated women as his property. I knew him for a year and there would be hundreds of women in that time.

‘He had zero respect for his conquests and would be so rude to them. It was chilling the way he always said he would get what he wanted.’

Northamptonshire Police said preliminary post-mortem reports showed Ms Durdant-Hollamby died of stab wounds, and Green of self-inflicted knife wounds.

The force said Ms Durdant-Hollamby’s death was being treated as murder and no-one else was being sought in connection with the incident.

It added both families have been informed of the findings and continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Ms Durdant-Hollamby was from the wealthy village of Wimblington, Cambridgeshire, where her parents, Steve, 48 and Rachel, 47 are well known.

Tributes are pictured left at the scene following the suspected murder suicide last month

A friend of Mr Durdant-Hollamby told MailOnline: ‘Steve told us that Maddie wasn’t that happy with Ben and had spoken about ending the relationship.

‘He was almost as old as Steve and Rachel and had three kids from a previous marriage and this concerned them.

‘Any parent would be worried if their 22-year-old daughter came home with a man like this.’

He added: ‘Steve and Rachel are only in their 40s and so was Ben so I can understand their concerns.’

Rachel also posted a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook saying: ‘These are the hardest words we have ever had to write.

‘Our beautiful beautiful Maddie is gone. She has grown her own set of wings and gone to fly with the angels.

’22 years of loving this amazing girl will never be enough, we thought we had a lifetime ahead of us.

‘Please hold your loved ones a little tighter and kiss them a little longer*.. you never know when it may be your last opportunity.

‘Baby girl. You were our world and our lives are not complete without you in it. Heaven is so lucky to have you.’

Detective Chief Inspector Joe Banfield, said: ‘Our investigation into the deaths of Maddie and Ben continues, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

‘We continue to ask that the media leave the families and friends of Maddie and Ben to grieve in peace, and cease any efforts to contact them at this desperately sad time.’
