Man charged with murder over stabbing death at Melbourne caravan park

A man has been charged with murder after a stabbing death at a caravan park in Dandenong South on Saturday night.

Police were called to the park on South Gippsland Highway, south-east of Melbourne, about 10pm on Saturday over reports of an altercation between several people.

Police found a 41-year-old man with life-threatening stab wounds. The man died at the scene.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries under police guard. He was charged with murder on Sunday night by homicide squad detectives.

The man, from Dandenong South, has been remanded in custody and will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

A 21-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives set up a crime scene following the altercation, with Victoria Police confirming on Sunday they believed the men involved in the altercation were known to each other.
