Meghan Markle to break away from maternity leave and ‘attend royal engagements’

The Duchess of Sussex, 37, is not set to return to work full time until autumn as she looks after baby Archie.

She only gave birth to her and Prince Harry’s newborn son last month as she settles in to maternity leave.

But at the weekend she made her first appearance since the birth at the Queen’s Trooping the Colour birthday celebrations.

The source said: “It was important to her (the Duchess of Sussex) to be at Trooping today out of respect to the Queen.

“She’s mirroring what the Duchess of Cambridge did on her maternity leave.

“You’ll probably see her at a few engagements but she won’t be back to work properly until later in the year.”

Kate, 37, had attended a few engagements last summer following the birth of Prince Louis in April that year.

The month after his birth Kate attended Trooping the Colour – which last weekend Louis made his debut appearance at.

An adorable Louis, aged just one, even stole the show on Saturday as he gave a royal wave during the RAF flypast.

Daily Star Online has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
