The crucial questions he WASN’T asked: Prince Andrew agreed to a no-holds-barred interview with the BBC… but still there are issues about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein that need to be addressed
What happened on Epstein’s island?
Epstein’s victims have said that his Caribbean island, Little St James, was a place where young women were made to walk naked and that orgies took place.
One of Epstein’s victims, Sarah Ransome, even claimed that Epstein led a search party to find her when she tried to swim away and escape. Miles and Kathy Alexander, the former caretakers of the island, said in a newspaper interview in 2011 that Prince Andrew visited the island at least three times, including once with a tall blonde whom the prince claimed was a brain surgeon.
They said that, during the visit, he stayed in the same room as her and he urinated on her foot when she stood on a sea urchin. Virginia Roberts also alleges he took part in an orgy in 2001 with her, Epstein and eight other women on Epstein’s island.

Were royal minders with you at Epstein’s?
It would be highly irregular for a member of the Royal Family to travel without protection officers, so they would be able to stand up the duke’s claims.
However, Prince Andrew could have instructed them to wait outside the property – which would be unusual. It is uncertain whether they were present at all while the duke stayed with Epstein.
It would be unprecedented to ask a protection officer to testify to a royal’s whereabouts during a criminal investigation.

Flight logs show that on February 9, 1999, he flew from New York to St Thomas, in the US Virgin Islands, close to Epstein’s private island, on the American’s private jet. On board were Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and her assistant Emmy Tayler.
Two days later he flew to Palm Beach on the same jet with the same people and a Russian model called Anna Malova. On May 12, 2000, he flew from New York to Palm Beach on Epstein’s jet with the owner, Miss Maxwell, Miss Tayler, and a woman called ‘Alexia’.

Were you at his New Mexico ranch?
Deidre Stratton has said that she worked for Epstein between 1997 and 2003 and claimed that a ‘beautiful woman’ was invited to Epstein’s Zorro ranch in New Mexico in the early 2000s to ‘entertain’ the duke while he stayed in a three-bedroom guesthouse.
She claimed that the woman asked her for tea that would make Andrew ‘horny’ and described how the duke burnt his food when he tried to cook for himself.
Tell us about the 2010 waving picture?
In August this year, a video emerged of the duke on his final trip to see Epstein in 2010. He was filmed standing at the door of his £54million New York mansion waving at a brunette who was leaving the house.
It later emerged she was Katherine Keating, the daughter of former Australian prime minister Paul Keating.
The film also shows a host of women coming and going from Epstein’s house. The duke has never explained who they were and if he found their presence there odd.
In last night’s documentary, he said Epstein’s home was ‘more like a railway station’ as so many people came and went.
